Hedge Fund Salesperson

We are searching for a hedge-fund salesperson to focus on the high-net-worth market segment. Job duties include:
• Introducing our hedge-fund products to our existing database of prospects and clients – we provide warm leads
• Building custom portfolios of hedge-fund products using our proprietary software
• Demonstrating extensive knowledge of how products on our platform may complement other investment products
• Actively networking with existing leads to identify potential prospects
This sales position requires:
• Proven, verifiable sales experience
• Strong background in analyzing asset-allocation strategies
• Working knowledge of alternative portfolio construction and how complementary strategies may be aligned
• Ability to analyze various hedge-fund programs and find gaps of exposure
• Strong computer skills and ability to rapidly learn new software packages
• Series 7, 3, and 63 or 66 licenses
Ideally, the candidate will also have:
• Past sales experience in the hedge-fund industry
• Prior relationships with hedge-fund clients
• Familiarity with various statistical-analysis software (such as PerTrac)
• CAIA designation or desire to complete the designation

Sales Account Executive

We are looking for a sales Account Executive to be responsible for cultivating relationships and introducing our hedge-fund products to the Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) community as well as high-net-worth clients and prospects. Responsibilities include:
• Educating clients about the products on the Altegris platform
• Contacting and qualifying leads
• Following up after Sales VPs’ initial RIA sales visits, including:
o Providing advisers with database access
o Answering advisers’ questions about our funds
o Closing sales with individual advisors
• Actively networking with existing leads to identify potential prospects
• Scheduling phone and onsite meetings for the Sales VPs
• Ensuring that all logistical and operational details necessary for sales are handled effectively
• Acting as a liaison between Sales VPs and RIA clients
• Demonstrating extensive knowledge of how products on the Altegris platform may complement other investment products
• Working jointly with Sales VPs to develop RIA marketing plans
• Building custom portfolios of hedge-fund products using our proprietary software
• Helping to implement and enhance “white-glove” service to clients
• In general, being a key part of our RIA sales team

The position requires:

• Deep knowledge of investments, preferably alternatives
• Familiarity with the world of RIAs
• Series 7 and 66 licenses

Preferred:

• CAIA certification
• Previous experience wholesaling to RIAs

COO - Director Of Hedge Fund Operations

Our client seeks a highly talented, senior-level, operations professional who will play a pivotal role in executing funds’ business strategies, as directed by senior management (position title determined commensurate with experience). The successful candidate will be deeply and actively involved in the ongoing building, implementing and overseeing of funds’ operations infrastructure and day-to-day business functions. The COO will report to the President, and will work closely with him, other funds executive officers, and key department heads of our client or other affiliates, and will be responsible for carrying out or supervising the following functions:

• Overseeing all operations for hedge funds and commodity pools sponsored by our client
• Working closely with senior management and financial and accounting staff on revenue modeling and sales forecasting
• Leading new fund product launches and existing product updates and other initiatives
• Advising senior management on appropriate resource allocation
• Assisting with development and implementation of the funds marketing plan and branding efforts
• Coordinating marketing efforts with distributor networks and their sales representatives
• Interacting with the funds’ senior management and department heads of affiliated companies on research, marketing, technology and compliance projects
• Working closely with internal and outside counsel on all compliance and legal aspects of funds’ operations, including, for certain products, ongoing SEC public reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance functions
• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key business partners and service providers, including distributors, prime brokers, custodians, administrators, and auditors
• Negotiating key contracts with distributors and service providers, as directed by senior management
• Overseeing annual audit processes and coordinating with outside auditors
• Assisting in the development and oversight of annual budgets, including forecasting and cash-flow management
• Identifying, developing and implementing process efficiencies and technology improvements

Background/Experience Needed

• Exceptional track record of success in senior-level positions in the financial industry
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ hands-on operations experience with one or more hedge funds and/or commodity pool organizations
• Prior experience with hedge funds or commodity pools registered with the SEC in various capacities (e.g., registered investment companies, public commodity funds, public reporting companies, etc.)
• Comprehensive understanding of and familiarity with the compliance and legal frameworks in which hedge funds and commodity pools operate
• Verifiable experience with service providers (administrators, prime brokers, auditors, custodians) in the hedge fund space
• Superb leadership, execution and communications skills
• Strong people-management capabilities
• Exceptional collaboration ability
• A passion for the financial markets
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business, with an advanced degree (MBA) preferred

Research Team with significant due-diligence responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting on-site and conference call due-diligence meetings with leading hedge
fund and managed-futures investment managers.
• Creating and executing quantitative analysis on investment managers and portfolios.
• Writing formal institutional-quality research reports relating to manager due diligence
and general alternative industry topics.
• Building new investment-manager relationships with existing industry network.

Summer Intern

We are looking for a talented and motivated hedge fund intern to assist the Research Team with ongoing due diligence processes. Duties will include a considerable amount of data collection and file organization, among other qualitative and quantitative tasks. Interns should expect exposure to a variety of hedge fund and managed futures strategies.

Requirements:

• General knowledge of the investment universe (understanding of stocks, bonds, the macro economy, etc.)

We are seeking a Sales Assistant to help raise assets in the Individual High Net Worth, Family Office and Registered Investment Adviser market segments. Job responsibilities include:

1. Providing strong sales support to a Sales VP to maximize sales productivity, including:

• Handling customer relations issues to assist in both the retention
and acquisition of assets under management
• Speaking directly with existing clients and prospective clients regarding alternative investments
• Prioritizing client/prospect contacts to maximize sales efforts
• Keeping track of sales activities
• Providing clients with access to our proprietary databases, software
and websites
• Planning and implementing follow-up actions with clients and prospects
• Populating our CRM database (GoldMine) with client info
